AECOM: Spanish Society for Inborn Errors of Metabolism - Spain

Asociación Española para el Estudio de los Errores Congénitos del Metabolismo - AECOM

The Spanish Association for the Study of Inherited Disorders of Metabolism (AECOM) was officially born at the General Assembly of the III National Congress of Inherited Disorders of Metabolism, in November, 1999 in Santiago de Compostela. In the above mentioned Assembly there the Bylaws of the Association were approved (can be consulted later).

The aim of AECOM is to bring together different professionals dedicated to the diagnosis and treatment of Inherited Errors of Metabolism. In this way, AECOM covers Pediatricians, Neurologists, Specialists in Gastroenterology and Nutrition, Biochemists, Biologists, Pharmacists, Dietitians, and other scientists who share the same interest in progressing knowledge of the above mentioned diseases.

AECOM relies on at present approximately 160 members distributed throughout Spain, and is open to professionals of other nationalities, especially to our neighbours in Portugal and Spanish speaking countries (Latin America).
