SIEMMESN: Italian Society for the Study of Inborn Metabolic Disorders and Newborn Screening
Società Italiana per lo studio delle Malattie Metaboliche Ereditarie e lo Screening Neonatale
The Italian Society for the Study of Inborn Metabolic Diseases and Newborn Screening (SIMMESN) originates from the merger of the two previously existing Societies, the Italian Society for the Study of Inherited Metabolic Diseases (SISMME) and the Italian Society for Newborn Screening (SISN), as agreed in the joint Meeting held in Palermo on 29 October 2008.
The Society inherits and merges the spirit, the history, the aims, the experiences and the scientific resources of the SISMME and the SISN.
The Society promotes and supports the research, the scientific cooperation, the organization and the quality of the diagnostics and health and medical care in the fields of Inborn Metabolic Diseases and Newborn Screening.
